This month we're encouraging you to start a new tradition at your house. We're supporting families preparing meals and cooking together. Monday, February 18 is Family Day and we will be closed in honour of this day. We hope you find something special to do with your family, perhaps in the kitchen.

How to make hard boiled eggs that peel easily:  Add 1 tbsp. baking soda to the cooking water. It raises the pH of the water and makes them easier to peel by reducing the albumen's ability to stick to the shell.

Chicken Cacciatore from Breville

Serve hot accompanied with crusty bread, pasta and salad of your choice.

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Heat oil in EasySear insert over stove top.
2. Add onion and garlic to sauté until softened.
3. Add chicken drumsticks in batches and cook over medium heat until lightly browned.
4. In a mixing bowl combine tomato sauce, olives, wine, stock, mushrooms, basil, rosemary and sugar.
5. Pour combined mixture over the chicken in the EasySear insert.
6. Move EasySear insert to the slow cooker vessel.
7. Cover with lid and cook on Low setting 8-10 hours or high setting 4-5 hours.
