On December 22, 1863 Orangeville was incorporated as a village and that is something to celebrate! Join in on the festivities on Broadway all day July 6th for Orangeville’s birthday bash. We'll have a skilled barbeque chef vendor in front of our store to entice your taste buds.

Like Orangeville, barbeque itself also has a history. It all started when fire was discovered by cavemen. After that the story gets to be unclear and wavers depending on who you ask. The only common thread all histories reveal is that barbeque involves food, entertainment and the gathering of friends. What more do we need to know?

Do you like your ice cream soft, hard or just in between?

The Smart Scoop allows you to select the texture so that you get ice cream just the way you like it. The machine is completely self-contained with a self refrigerating compressor.

It makes 1.5 quarts of perfect ice cream, frozen yogurt, gelato or sorbet.

Frozen Berry Yogurt

Ingredients:

• 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
• ½ cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons lemon juice
• 2 cups plain yogurt

Method:

1. Place quartered strawberries in a bowl and mix with 1/3 cup sugar and lemon juice. Gently crush with a fork and let sit at room temperature for an hour to macerate. After an hour gently crush with a fork again to desired consistency or blend into a puree.
2. Combine strawberries, yogurt and rest of sugar and pour into the ice cream bowl. Set ice cream maker to YOGURT setting and churn.
3. Once mixture is frozen transfer to a freezer container and freezer for up to 1 week.

Makes approximately 1 quart

BERRY LEMONADE
(LIQUOR-LESS)

When life gives you lemons, mix ‘em with berries. Enjoy. Repeat.

• 1 large jigger water
• 1 fresh lemon
• 3-4 fresh raspberries
• 3-4 fresh blueberries
• 2 teaspoons sugar (or 1 small jigger simple syrup)
• 1 splash ginger ale or club soda

Ream juice from lemon into rocks glass. Add water, sugar and berries. Muddle well.
Fill with ice and top with ginger ale or club soda. Garnish with berries.

Bring on the Booze
Add 1 large and 1 small jigger of vodka in place of water.
