- In the United States and Canada, Father's Day falls on the third Sunday in June, in Mexico Father's Day is on June 21st, in Spain, it is on March 19th.
- Father's Day was first celebrated in 1910 and was the brainchild of Sonora Louise Smart Dodd of Spokane Washington who, after hearing a sermon at her local church on Mother's Day, wanted a way to honour her father, who had to raise his family on his own after his wife died.
