- 2 Cups flour
- 2 Teaspoons white sugar
- 4 Teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Cup shortening
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 2/3 Cup milk
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and shortening together.
Combine egg with milk and add to dry ingredients.
Handle the dough as little as possible, and do not over-mix.
Gently roll dough 1-2’’ thick, and use a cookie cutter to make 10-12 biscuits, depending on size.
Bake at 450F on a lightly greased baking sheet for approximately 10 minutes.
